"Last night, I made a wish, on a star. And the star answered."

Disney's latest animated masterpiece, "Wish," directed by Fawn Veerasunthorn and Chris Buck, is a captivating tale that seamlessly blends the charm of vintage animation with cutting-edge technology. The story revolves around young Asha, voiced by the talented Ariana DeBose, who makes a wish so powerful it summons Star, a cosmic force of boundless energy. This little ball of light, portrayed with whimsical brilliance, aids Asha in her quest to save her kingdom from the clutches of King Magnifico, a character brought to life with a mix of menace and charisma by Chris Pine.

What truly sets "Wish" apart is its groundbreaking animation style. While it is undeniably computer-generated, the film pays homage to the classic Disney watercolor aesthetic, creating a visual experience that is both nostalgic and refreshingly new. This innovative approach gives the movie an enchanting look that captivates viewers from start to finish.

The narrative is further enriched by a host of fascinating characters, including the humorous Valentino, voiced by Alan Tudyk, whose interactions add a layer of delightful comedy to the film. Moreover, "Wish" is a treasure trove for Disney enthusiasts, boasting over 100 easter eggs. While some are conspicuous, others are subtler, encouraging multiple viewings to appreciate the depth of detail in the storytelling fully.

"Wish" transcends age barriers. Our diverse group, ranging from 7 to over 50 years old, found immense joy in this cinematic journey. It's a rare feat for a movie to resonate so profoundly with such a broad audience. We don't often use the term 'new classic,' but "Wish" undeniably earns this title. It's a film that families will cherish and revisit for generations, not only for its story and style but for its underlying message: the power of courage and the magic of dreams. Disney has once again reminded us that when humans connect with the magic of the stars, truly wondrous things can happen. "Wish" is a must-watch for anyone who believes in the magic of storytelling.
